Sports in Eindhoven

Eindhoven encourages sports at all levels. From top-level football in the modern Philips Stadion to the European Swimming Championships in Nationaal Zwemcentrum de Tongelreep. From the annual marathon to the Concours Hippique and events of international allure like the Davis Cup tennis tournament, the AFAS Tennis Classics and the annual Gym Gala. Sports enthusiasts are never at a loss in Eindhoven. And Eindhoven also offers everything an athlete could want: swimming pools, sports complexes, hockey and football fields and an all-year-round ice-rink.

Recreation in Eindhoven

Eindhoven also has a lot to offer in terms of recreation, both at Genneper Parken and elsewhere. Pay a visit to the Van Abbemuseum. Let yourself be transported back in time in the Historisch OpenluchtMuseum Eindhoven (Historical Open-air Museum Eindhoven). Go for a walk through scenic Gennep. Or have a look around the old Philips Gloeilampenfabriek (light bulb factory), which dates from 1891. It’s all possible in Eindhoven. And if you want to relax after a busy day, just go to the city centre. On Markt and Dommelstraat, you will find all kinds of good restaurants where you can enjoy a drink or order a delicious meal.
